It's the time of year where I long for all things cozy! Hot chocolate, cozy pj's cozy blankets, and cozy pillows!!! Flannel really does make everything super cozy so I'm super excited to share this fun Buffalo Plaid flannel pillow. I'm seriously obsessed with buffalo plaid this year so don't be surprised if you see a few more DIY crafts with this cozy print!
Supplies
Buffalo Plaid Fabric - I got mine at Joann's with a coupon but HERE is the amazon link in case you don't have one close to you.
Concealed or Invisible Zipper - I bought mine in bulk from Amazon and they are great quality! I got the black ones and the white ones. If you are constantly needing a zipper I would totally suggest buying them this way they are 10x cheaper then at the store.
Iron On Vinyl - I choose a white color but you can use any you have. I love the Siser brand and I always get THIS large roll in white and black so I always have the basic colors on hand for my projects.
Cutting Mat - I have THIS one.
Acrylic Ruler - I have THIS one.
Sewing Machine - I have a Brother any one you have will work great! You can also hand sew this project if your feeling up to the challenge.
Iron & Ironing board - Any one you have is perfect!
SIDE NOTE: If you love the pillow but just don't have the time to make it you can purchase it here in my ETSY SHOP!!!

Step One:
Decide what size you would like your pillow to be. I choose an 18x18 pillow. Cut out 2 squares of fabric that are 18x18 inches and face the right sides together.
SIDE NOTE : Have you ever noticed that when you buy an 18x18 inch pillow it's never actually 18x18 inches? Typically the ones I have bought range from 17-17.5 inches. This is because they originally cut the fabric at 18x18 and then when they sew it together the seem allowance takes a bit of the fabric away from the originally size. It's never really an issue though. They still fit great with an 18x18 inch insert or a 20x20 inch insert. The 20x20 is a bit tight. it really just depends on how you like them to look. :)

Step Two:
Sew in the concealed zipper. For instructions on how to do this check out the video at the bottom of the post!

Step Three:
Sew all around the edges of the pillow to close it up. Then fold the pillow right side out. At this point you will want to iron the edges flat and cut out any excess fabric around the edges that creates bulk. You can also see how I do this in the video below.

Step Four:
At this point you can stop if you like. The pillow is ready to go. However I wanted to jazz it up a bit and add some more to it. I choose to add an Iron-on Vinyl deer to make it a bit more festive.

Step Five:
Add you pillow insert and your ready to go!
